"Most alien invaders turn around and run away screaming rather than dare admit to themselves they found a perfectly functional and stable geocentric solar system. As long as they leave my little ponies in peace, I won't complain." -- Celestia
"I think it was more that one being can control a STAR like a marionette, and less the geocentric system itself, Your Highness. Seeing as how the second is merely odd to them, while YOU could vaporise their planet if you wanted. No offense." -- Princess Twilight Sparkle
"You'd be surprised how far some will go to protect their deep seated beliefs Twilight. One alien science vessel wanted to blow us up just so they wouldn't have to report the existence of a stable geocentric solar system and have to rewrite all their text books."
"We let a few of their ships survive, of course. So they could properly surrender, and report back to their leaders that further agression would be...unwise. Especially since we got the coordinates of their homeworld from their ships' computers, and could open black holes wherever we wanted."
Good piece, really captures that fun playful side everyone has, plus the shadowing/lighting is pretty cool. I think everyone love seeing characters they know doing fun things, and whats more fun/cool than playing a freekin sun.
Style wise, the curvy and angled hair mix has that sorta... k idk the name/word for it but its got that and it works out well here. The mane and tail shadowing is pretty good as well as it gives it looks cool and gives it depth. The line shadowing technique add an element of organicness to it and it works out well with the playing of the light from the sun. The sparkles are a great touch adding in some magic to the piece and reinforces Celestia's magic-ness (yeah im not to good with words atm), however the two down sides are that theirs a bit to much on your front mane (or their just to bright/big or clustered together for me) and the ones on the hooves are a great/excellent idea (it adds a bit of a disney magic look to it doesn't it) but their few and a bit hard to see so many don't notice them.
The one thing that confuses me is the character expression. The pose of the body and the bright coloring pallet suggests this is suppose to be a playful fun piece, which it is, but her face tells of a different story. While playing with is sun might be difficult for most I would'nt expect Celestia of all characters to have any difficulty being that she... well a god of the sun an all. I'd understand it a little better is her pupils were small, looking directly at the sun and all, or if her eye shape were expressing joy but it doesn't look like it to me. But I digress, I'm now nitpicking.
In the end overall this piece bring a sense of play and enjoyment to all.
